What is Pile Integrity Testing?
Pile integrity testing can be used to assess the condition of piles or shafts in a structure. A pile is a slender element driven into the ground. Because they are underground, it is hard to know their integrity. Pile integrity tests are a solution to this problem, a cost-effective technique that can easily be carried out, that will identify any issues with your pipes quickly and with as little disruption to your site as possible. Formerly, integrity tests were intrusive, digging up the pile to test it. But now, it can be done through indirect methods.

Pile Integrity Testing
The main type of pile integrity test scans the piles using techniques such as Transient Dynamic Response or Sonic Echo. This can reveal potential problems in the integrity of the pipes such as voids, cracks and cross-sectional changes.
Dynamic Load Pile Testing
This technique is used to test the load capacity of a pile. It does this by applying a dynamic load to the pile head while recording the strain and acceleration. Recordings of the dynamic forces and motions are recorded by a testing rig hammer striking the top of the pile.
Static Load Testing
This test measures the static load-bearing capacity of piles. The types of static load tests available are a maintained load test, tension test and constant rate of penetration test.
