What began as a small, local piling and groundwork business has grown into a trusted and experienced company with a reputation for reliability, safety, practical problem-solving, and getting the job done properly.
From domestic piled foundations through to complex commercial, residential, rail, and specialist piling projects, our approach has always remained the same: do the job right, communicate clearly, and build long-term trust with our clients.
Over the years, we have worked for many private homeowners, building companies, developers, main contractors, and larger organisations. Our project experience includes works for clients and end users such as the NHS, Next, BMW, and numerous local authorities, giving us a broad understanding of both private and commercial project requirements.

Our Journey
Over the years, the business has grown through hard work, repeat customers, technical development, and a commitment to delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
2006 — The Beginning
Belowground Ltd was established with a focus on providing reliable mini piling and groundwork services for local clients.
From the outset, the company built its reputation on practical advice, quality workmanship, and a straightforward approach to solving ground engineering challenges.
2010 — Investment in Mini Piling Equipment
By 2010, Belowground Ltd had invested in a fleet of mini piling rigs, enabling the company to offer practical and flexible piling solutions for small, medium, and selected larger projects.
As demand increased, the company expanded its services and began taking on larger and more varied projects across the region.
2014 — Introducing Helical Screw Piles
This led us to introduce screw piling as an additional service alongside our existing mini piling and groundwork capabilities.
By this stage, Belowground Ltd had become known for its practical approach, experienced team, and ability to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget.
2018 — Growth in Screw Pile Technology
By 2018, helical screw piles were being used on an increasing number of our projects, often providing a faster, cleaner, and more efficient alternative to traditional concrete piling methods.
As demand grew, we released some of our traditional concrete piling equipment and invested further in screw pile technology, strengthening our ability to deliver modern, efficient foundation solutions.
2023 — Joining Forces with GoliathTech Inc.
In 2023, Belowground Ltd was approached by GoliathTech Inc., one of the world’s leading screw pile manufacturers.
A deal was agreed for GoliathTech to acquire Belowground Ltd, with Alistair Garden remaining at the helm to continue leading the business and supporting its future growth.
This partnership has enabled Belowground Ltd to combine its UK experience, reputation, and technical knowledge with GoliathTech’s international manufacturing strength, systems, and global expertise.
It has also allowed us to begin developing a network of franchised installers across the UK, Europe, and beyond.
2025 — Rail Sector Approval & NHBC Recognition
In 2025, Belowground Ltd achieved RISQS approval, enabling the company to work on rail-related projects and further demonstrating our commitment to safety, compliance, and robust operational standards.
During the same period, Belowground Ltd also became the only manufacturer and installer in the UK to achieve NHBC approval for its helical screw pile systems — a major milestone that reflects the quality, performance, and reliability of our foundation solutions.
2026 — Expanding Across the UK and Europe
With the strength and support of GoliathTech behind us, and with key accreditations including RISQS approval and NHBC approval for our helical screw pile systems, Belowground Ltd is now entering an exciting new phase of growth.
By 2026, the business has expanded rapidly, with 10 franchise networks sold in the UK and 3 in Europe.
Today, Belowground Ltd continues to operate with the same values it was built on: quality, trust, safety, innovation, compliance, and straightforward service.
