In our most recent project, Belowground ltd were contracted to construct 4 piled foundations for four new extensions on houses on The Magdalen Road, Almshouses in the heart of Exeter. These properties were originally built in the 1800’s and are owned by The Exeter Municipal Charity. The charity was founded some 900 years ago and its purpose is to provide accommodation to people unable to remain in their own homes due to declining health or changed circumstances.
The Almshouses project was completed for local people, aged 55 or over, capable of independent living and in need of housing.
Belowground ltd were contracted by Fifields Construction Ltd in Exeter who carry out commercial building work across the area. The properties were listed buildings which meant that work had to be sensitively adapted to the structure of the building.
A full internal and external restoration was carried out on the properties, with new floor coverings carried out by Fifields Construction. They also converted and remodelled the first floor flats and living areas.
Our job was to construct reinforced concrete ground beams, slabs and auger bored piles.
After the completion of piling we carry out the excavation and installation of pile caps, primary ground beams and a reinforced concrete slab along with secondary, tertiary tie and edge beams to ensure even distribution of weight across the piles.
We carry out work all throughout the south of the UK. We’re experienced in piling, mini piling and underpinning and are able to provide a wide range of specialist foundation services. Belowground ltd work with small, medium and large contractors and developers on projects from domestic extensions and new builds to commercial developments. Our services and materials are cost effective. We are able to provide our customers with a free estimate on costs after visiting your site to assess it.
