Belowground Ltd are specialist piling, underpinning and foundation contractors, based in Exeter, with branches in London and Bristol. We proudly draw upon more than 25 years’ experience in the industry to offer customers the following pile testing services at highly competitive rates.
Integrity testing of piles may be required to assess the condition of piles or shafts in a structure. This is a highly cost effective pile testing technique and can usually be carried out in a short period of time, depending of course on the size of the project, and other relevant factors that need to be taken into account.
Pile integrity testing involves scanning the piles using techniques such as Sonic Echo or Transient Dynamic Response to reveal potential problems in the integrity of the piles. Potential problems that could affect the integrity of piles include cracks, voids, and cross sectional changes.
A test that measures the static load bearing capacity of piles, we are also able to provide static load testing for compression and tension piles. The following static load tests are available:
This pile testing technique is used to assess the bearing capacity of a pile through the application of a dynamic load to the pile head while recording acceleration and strain.
Measurements are taken when a testing rig hammer is used to strike the top of the pile. Dynamic forces and motions are then recorded, which will indicate the typical behaviour of the pile. This form of pile testing can be used on all pile types.
As a leading piling testing contractor, all the tests Belowground carries out are supplied with a detailed report containing all the results, and all of the testing procedures discussed above are carried out in complete accordance with the Institute of Civil Engineers Specification for Piling and Embedded Retaining Walls 2007.
